The Hennepin Conservation District (HCD) is a special unit of local government that is involved in a variety of land and water conservation issues.
HCD is responsible for administration and implementation of the Minnesota Wetlands Conservation Act and of cost-share conservation programs that financially assist landowners with the protection of their land. HCD also administers conservation easements.

The Hennepin Conservation District has four supervisor positions up for election in 2012.

HCD is accepting applications to fill the vacated position of District 1 Supervisor. The term will run until December 31, 2012.
Applicants must be residents of Hennepin County but are not required to reside in District 1. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend the next HCD Board Meeting on January 9, 2012. Applications will be reviewed by the HCD Board and selected applicants will be interviewed. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
