Hennepin County Public Health Promotion works to reduce the prevalence and impact of chronic diseases by promoting healthy behaviors and environments, and address health disparities. Specific areas of focus include:
• Health Care – Making changes in clinic systems to improve patient care and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
• Healthy Eating and Physical Activity – Partnering with schools, employers, community organizations and cities to increase healthy eating and physical activity.
• Mental Health – Identifying and integrating effective strategies for improving the mental health and well-being.
• Tobacco – Working with multiunit housing complexes, post-secondary institutions and worksites to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
