Make an appointment at the Government Center Service Center to apply for a precious metal dealer's license.

A precious metal dealer is defined as any establishment dealing with the sale or commercial use of secondhand platinum, gold, and/or silver. This includes pawn shops, coin dealers, and some jewelry stores.

How to apply

Complete the Precious Metal Dealer's License application (PDF 103kb) and submit your completed application and fee in one of the following ways

  • In person at the Downtown Government Center Service Center,
  • In person by making an appointment first at the Downtown Government Center Service Center location, OR
  • Via the mail to the address listed in our contact information on the right
    • Application must be completed, signed, and notarized, and
    • Fee paid by check or money order must be included
