Information technology at Hennepin County is organized as a federated model where countywide IT services are delivered by the central IT department and line of business specific applications are implemented and maintained in the lines of business.

The Information Technology Department provides the computing and communications infrastructure used for delivery of business applications throughout the county. It is responsible for implementing and overseeing policy, procedures, and tools for ensuring information security. The department is comprised of:
