The mission of our office is to maintain, improve, and distribute reliable information about the Public Land Survey System and real property boundaries in Hennepin County. We envision providing complete, open, ready access to all land related information for those who seek it.

The county surveyor:

  • maintains the monuments and records of the Public Land Survey system,
  • conducts boundary surveys of real property, roads and highways,
  • reviews and approves maps and documents associated with land subdivision, and
  • maintains and publishes maps and Geographic Information System (GIS) data that support the property tax system.
